Sweet soy sauce (also known as Kecap Manis) is a thick, sweet, and aromatic Indonesian soy sauce sweetened with palm sugar. It has a syrupy consistency, a deep brown, caramel-like color, and a rich umami profile.

Ingredients: Sugar, soybean extract 12% (contains wheat 0.6%), isomalto-oligosaccharides, salt, water, natural colouring caramel III and IV, vegetable stabilizer, sodium benzoate, acidity regulator, natural sweetener steviol glycosides.

Usage:
Marinade & glaze: Ideal for marinating meat, poultry, seafood, or tofu, as the sugar caramelizes when grilled or fried, adding depth to the dish.
Seasoning: It is often used in traditional Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng (fried rice), mie goreng (fried noodles), and satay (grilled skewers).
Dip sauce: The sauce can be used pure or mixed with other ingredients such as chopped shallots and chili peppers as a dip for fried snacks.
Sauce base: It serves as a base for stews (e.g., ayam kecap, chicken in sweet soy sauce) or can be used to season noodles.
