Coffee blend 70% India Arabica & 30% Tanzania Robusta
Our house blend consists of 70% Indian Monsooned Malabar and 30% Robusta Tanzania. The basis for the Malabar is the Indian Cherry AA bean from Karnataka in the Chickmagalur District, one of the oldest coffee regions in India. According to legend, over 400 years ago, the Muslim pilgrim Baba Budan brought seven coffee seeds back from his pilgrimage to the Holy Land and planted them next to his mountain cave in Chickmagalur, which has since been considered the cradle of coffee cultivation in India.
The fair trade and certified organic Robusta (Canephora) comes from Karagwe in northwestern Tanzania, near the border with Uganda and Rwanda. It grows at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,800 meters under shade trees, is picked by hand, and then dried in the sun (natural).
